Eco Etsy is a global group of like minded individuals who have come together to practice and spread the word about reducing, reusing and recycling. We concentrate on educating the public (via our blog, namely) to be more aware of the waste we create when making and packaging our items, and therefore offer tips and tricks to help other members create a greener way of life in their shops and in their personal lives.
EcoEtsy is open to sellers who try to waste less in the process of creating, selling, packaging and shipping, and to encourage buyers to do their part as well.
Members of Eco Etsy work together to:
- Raise funds for non-profit organizations, through auctions, sales, etc.
- Find attractive ways to reuse packaging materials
- Find promotional materials that are Eco-friendly
- Promote Etsy through the creative reuse and labeling of packaging
- Actively participate in the Eco Etsy Yahoo group, and other web based groups for the team.
- Create a list of tips for sellers who want their shops to be more "green"
- Educate buyers and sellers on the importance of reuse
We are a global team who communicate through chat rooms, message boards, blogs, email, and other web based groups such as Yahoo, Flickr, and myspace. We come together to host contests, special events, fund raisers, team wide-sales, promo swaps and other fun activities.
